The Inventory Co-ordinator facilitates smooth production operations and ensures all parts needed for production are available. The Inventory Coordinator also makes sure SMT builds are kitted correctly and all components are correctly handled and stored, working closely with the Inventory Controller and the factory staff. 


We’re looking for someone with unique experience - or the desire to gain it. This role supports both inventory management and SMT kitting. As long as you have strong experience in one, and are willing to learn the other, we'd love to hear from you.


Responsibilities


  • Management of inventory through the ERP system (Odoo).
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
  • Timely receiving and processing of materials.
  • Create work orders in the ERP system and process them.
  • Conduct cycle counts and process material movement in the ERP system.
  • Support the machine set up process for SMT production.
  • Ensuring proper storage and handling of SMT components.
  • Facilitate lifecycle changes to parts and production.
  • Ensuring organisation and effective use of space for inventory storage.
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to improve the we manage inventory.


Qualifications and Experience


Essential

  • US Forklift Certification, or willingness to become certified upon starting the role.
  • Previous experience in either inventory management or in supporting SMT.


Desirable

  • Understanding of inventory management practices.
  • Previous experience with ERPs, and specifically Odoo.
  • Good understanding of parts and components used in production operations.
  • Ability to operate machines used in SMT operations.
  • First aid qualification.


Location

One of our hands on roles based in Silicon Valley in SoftIron’s very first factory (ever!). We also have manufacturing roles based in our factory in Sydney, Australia so there’s opportunities to switch hemispheres in future!
